You are to create a 5" by 7" tight value sketch of a movie poster for this short film. This will be critiqued and will be due Monday, February 27th.

Remember Mind Maps may help you with this project.

Thought trees and mind mapping can overcome being stuck.

Movie Poster Project

HOMEWORK: Students need to watch Netflix, rent movies, or watch tv to select a film or television show to design a poster for.

Sci/Fi Fantasy and Surrealism Project Due

February 16th!!!

·         Your final should be at least 9 by 12 inches

·         The piece should be fully colored you may use pen and ink, acrylics, colored pencil, or water color.

·         You should have clearly referenced professional solutions in your work…while still creating an original product.

·         If you chose a Sci/fi fantasy picture be prepared to explained how your picture fits that genre and why you chose to put your spin on it.

·         If you chose surrealism you must be able to describe how you used symbolism to represent a personal story.

·         Don’t forget the syllabus standards!

Creature Creation for Sci/FI Fantasy and Surrealism

Ahoy there my visual adventurers! 

You are going to create a new creature. It can be alien or it could be created on this planet. The catch is like great concept art featuring fantasy or alien creatures, it must be a combination of at least 3 existing creatures found on this planet. 

So things I will be looking for in this assignment. 

1. A name for your creature and where it exists.
2. A short explanation of what 3 creatures on this planet you took reference from
3. It draw in full detail on a seperate piece of paper that can be posted for a critque.
4. All the fundemental art rules apply such as borders, value, contours, etc. 
5. I will be looking to see if you used good reference sources...Any questions ask Ferrell

Teacher Caricatures

We are working on teacher caricatures. At this point we have mastered our teacher's likeness and have interviewed them to find out who they are, where they are from, and their likes. Our job is to make an entertaining drawing of how amazing these instructors are and what they do that makes them special.
